MATT SCURFIELD -- DRUMS
Drummer Matt Scurfield's inspiration comes from drummers like Mike Mangini and Dave Dicenso and bands like Queensryche and Tool. A Berklee grad, he has a background in rudimental drumming from three years in drum corps with the Boston Crusaders. Besides working with Jaye, Matt balances his time performing with three other high profile acts, all of which include studio work, touring and live performances. He recorded with instrumental guitarist Joe Stump on his upcoming release "Sacred Ground" and has performed with Joe as an opener for such acts as Savatage, Steve Vai, and Robin Trower. He performed bus top concerts with Sonic Joyride in 1999 and recorded drum tracks for their new CD release. Matt is also the drummer for the band EVENT, signed to Inside Out Music America.

MATT STEIN -- BASS
19-year-old Matt Stein is a student at Berklee College of Music majoring in Music Business/Management. Matt began his musical education on the piano at the age of 7 and continued playing and studying keys for 6 years, while also spending 2 years studying saxophone and 7 years on drums. At age 13 Matt began playing guitar and jamming with other aspiring young musicians in his hometown, eventually switching to bass in early 1997.
While in high school Matt took private bass lessons for a year with Mirek Kocandrle, a current Professor at Berklee College of Music who has performed with the Bee Gees and Roy Orbison. Since entering Berklee his private bass instructors have included Anthony Vitti (Sammy Davis, Jr., Blues Saraceno) and David Buda (Patti LaBelle, Boston Pops Orchestra).
Besides performing with Jaye, Matt also works with Poor Man's Opera that plans to tour this summer in the Midwest, and is an occasional bass-for-hire with jazz groups performing corporate functions in the Boston area.
His influences include Victor Wooten, James Jamerson, Paul Chambers, and Leland Sklar. Matt is endorsed by Fernandes Guitars and GHS Strings.
